Dark Chocolate Trail Mix Bark

This is a guest blog post submitted by Carpe Diem Nutrition Dietetic Intern, Emily Bumgarner. Are you ever in search of a small bite of something to curb your sweet tooth? This is the perfect solution! Chocolate, fruit, nuts, and a pinch of sea salt combine sweet and salty to make the perfect snack anytime of day. Dark chocolate can be a great dessert or snack since it provides health benefits from the minerals it contains. It can help improve blood pressure, cholesterol, and heart health, just to name a few. Although dark chocolate is beneficial it is still a sweet with lots of sugar, so it should be consumed in moderation. I love this trail mix bark recipe because it is easy to make and keep in the refrigerator for those times when I want a sweet treat. It is a versatile recipe because you can add and subtract ingredients according to your own taste.
